The benefits of being a member of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce are numerous. In a close-knit community like ours, your business becomes instantly connected to both the local business network and the residents of Jamestown. Below is just a sampling of the many advantages you’ll enjoy as a member of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber Website – Our website, www.jamestownrichamber.com, serves as a valuable resource for members, island residents, and visitors. It features a membership directory with detailed business profiles, along with information on Chamber and community events. We continuously update and enhance the site to better promote our members and the island. Members may submit promotions, specials, and events through our online submission form for posting on the website.
Job Fair & Business Expo – The Chamber hosts a Job Fair & Business Expo to connect local employers with job seekers and provide members with an opportunity to showcase their businesses. This event offers valuable exposure, recruitment opportunities, and community engagement. This event typically happens in early Spring. Check out the events page for the date.
Social Media – Have something to share? Tag the Chamber on Instagram and Facebook for a chance to be featured and expand your reach within the community.
Jamestown Map – The Chamber’s Jamestown Map is updated and printed every other year and distributed throughout the island and surrounding communities. Widely used by residents and visitors alike, the map is an effective promotional tool. Advertising opportunities are available for an additional fee.
Discounted Advertising – The Chamber participates in various advertising opportunities both on and off island and offers affordable ad placements exclusively to members.
Chamber Check Program – The Chamber issues “Chamber Checks,” which are available for purchase at Fuller Gallery, Conanicut Gift Shop, and Grapes & Gourmet. Members may accept Chamber Checks as payment for goods or services and are reimbursed dollar-for-dollar upon submitting the checks to the Chamber (P.O. Box 35, Jamestown).
Holiday Stroll – Each December, the Chamber hosts the Holiday Stroll on the first Saturday of the month. Celebrate the season in Jamestown Village with craft fairs at local churches and schools, open houses throughout the Commercial District, holiday sales, festive treats, and live music. Ribbon Cuttings – The Chamber welcomes new members and businesses to town with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and photo opportunity, often held in conjunction with a Business After Hours or Open House.
Community Support – The Chamber provides Chamber Check and monetary donations to local organizations and initiatives that positively support local businesses and strengthen our community.
Newsletter – The Chamber’s monthly electronic newsletter offers members an opportunity to promote their businesses and stay informed about Chamber initiatives and relevant business news. Members are encouraged to share updates such as new services, promotions, relocations, and milestones for inclusion. Updates may be submitted to info@jamestownrichamber.com.
