Jamestown Chamber Checks      The perfect gift anytime of the year! What is a Chamber Check? Chamber Checks are issued by the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce, and are redeemable much like a gift certificate or traveler’s check. These checks function just like money, and can be used to purchase goods and services from many of our member businesses. Why would someone use a Chamber Check? Chamber Checks make a great gift and encourage purchases at our member businesses. A person can choose where and when to use Chamber Checks, redeeming them at local restaurants, shops, or for professional services. In many ways Chamber Checks function like town−wide gift certificates. By giving these checks to friends and family, you give them access to fabulous goods and services town-wide. More elegant than cash, and more flexible then a standard gift certificate, these checks provide a fun way to give to those you care about and support your local businesses at the same time. And, they never expire. Where can I buy Chamber Checks? Chamber Checks are available for purchase year−round at Baker’s Pharmacy, Conanicut Marine Ship’s Store, Grapes & Gourmet, and Jamestown Hardware. Is there a fee or surcharge? NO. Chamber Checks are purchased dollar for dollar. What denominations are available? Chamber Checks are available in $5, $10, and $20 denominations. Can I exchange Chamber Checks for cash? Businesses do not exchange Chamber Checks for cash but all you have to do is make a purchase, and you will receive cash back. What happens if I lose a Chamber Check? We are unable to replace lost or stolen Chamber Checks. How do I know what businesses accept Chamber Checks? All you have to do is ask. There are about 25 businesses throughout town accepting Jamestown Chamber Checks. Please note that participation in the program is voluntary and businesses may decide to drop out. We keep our list as up−to−date as possible but please confirm directly with an individual business whether or not they accept Chamber Checks.
